The Deutsche Post is the replacement of the former German mail authority Deutsche Bundespost. This company was privatized in 1995 and became a fully independent company in 2000. Interestingly, in 1998, Deutsche Post begins acquiring shares in DHL International, and by December 2002, it obtained the remaining shares in DHL International. Currently, DHL Express is a wholly-owned subsidiary. Following its privatization, Deutsche Post has significantly expanded its business area through acquisitions.
